Healthy Bites: Cinnamon Latte

I truly enjoy my coffee in the morning.  Taking a few minutes to drink that wonderful caffeine down and wake up ranks high on my priorities list.

While I’m generally a black coffee drinker, I like to switch things up from time to time.  I do like some of the creamers I’ve found, I can never get over the amount of sugar in them, and I really try to stay away from artificial sweetners as much as possible.  (Yes, I’m still trying to kick that diet dr.pepper habit!)  That’s why this Cinnamon Latte is one I can truly enjoy, because the ingredients are all good for me!

No worries, you don’t have to be a trained barista to make it…

Here’s what you need:  Freshly brewed Coffee, Vanilla Almond Milk, Ground Cinnamon and a frother.


Start out by adding some ground cinnamon to your coffee grounds when making your coffee.  (The amount you add will vary with how much coffee you are making and how cinnamoney you like your coffee to be.)


Next, while your coffee is brewing, use a poor 1/4 cup of vanilla almond milk into a microwave safe cup.  Add several shakes of ground cinnamon.  Mix milk and cinnamon with a frother.  (I got this frother of for around $20.00.)

046Once milk is frothed to your liking, stick it in the microwave for about 45 seconds.  After you take it out of the microwave mix it with the frother again and then poor the coffee in.
